Conditions We Treat

We treat any condition that limits your mobility and keeps you from doing what you want to do!

But here are a few that we are especially passionate about…

Shoulder pain/rotator cuff injuries

The shoulder is a very complex part of the human body and one that takes a lot of abuse. Shoulder issues are some of the most common causes of pain and limited function because we use our hands and arms so frequently. Some of the most common shoulder problems that we treat are:

  • Rotator cuff tear

  • Torn labrum

  • Biceps tendinitis

  • Post-surgical rehabilitation for arthroscopy, debridement, or repair

  • Total Shoulder Arthroplasty (replacement) and Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty

We can help- whether you’re wanting to get back to golf, rock climbing, or just chopping onions without pain. Can’t drive to a clinic after surgery? Don’t worry- we come to you!

Low back/Sacroiliac (SI) pain and sciatica

The lumbar spine is also a very complicated region that allows so much mobility and movement. Your spine works together with your core muscles as a system, and it doesn’t function well if it doesn’t have strong core muscles (not necessarily 6 pack abs) to help support everything.

Sciatica is related to low back pain, but is irritation of the sciatic nerve which may stem from the a herniated disc in the low back or even muscles in the posterior hip region. Sound complicated? It is!

Pregnancy and childbirth cause a lot of changes in the human body- one of which is a change in the musculature and structure of the pelvis. This can alter your movement pattern as well as cause an increase in pain during the so-called “fourth trimester.” If you are having problems with this and don’t want to leave your newborn with a stranger or have to bring them to a clinic, we come to you!

Perhaps your physician told you that you have Degenerative Disc Disease or a herniated disc. It doesn’t matter what it’s called- if you’re having a hard time getting out of the house due to low back pain with driving or riding in a car- relax! We can come to you.

knee replacement/hip replacement

Total knee arthroplasty, or total knee replacement, is one of the most common surgeries performed in the US. There are almost one million surgeries performed every year. Total hip replacements are the second most common joint replacement. The research has overwhelmingly shown that early access to physical therapy after surgery is one of the most important factors in having a successful outcome to surgery.

You’ve just had surgery on your hip or knee and can’t make it up and down the stairs into your home or apartment. You probably do not feel like going up and down those stairs multiple times a day in order to go out to a clinic for physical therapy. Driving to a clinic- or relying on someone else for a ride- makes this difficult or impossible for some. Don’t procrastinate or delay physical therapy until you feel better- we can come to you!

Headaches and neck pain

Headaches can often be caused by tension in the muscles in the back of the head and neck, which leads to increased pressure on the nerves to the head and face. This can be exacerbated by poor posture and weak neck muscles.

Neck pain can be caused by a variety of underlying issues, but the most common causes are arthritic changes and postural problems. Often, looking down at mobile devices and reading books can make these postural issues worse. We will work with you to determine activities that may be aggravating your neck and work to improve your posture, stretch tight muscles, and strengthen weak ones. Manual therapy to the neck can help to calm the muscles and decrease tension. If you’re having pain with driving or looking over your shoulder to change lanes, we can come to you so you don’t have to worry about driving!
